I have worked as a coach and serviceman for my sister Annelise Coberger, World Cup winner and Olympic Silver medalist. She was the first person from the southern hemisphere to win a winter Olympic medal, ever! I was also head coach for Olympic Bronze medalist and World Slalom Champion Zali Steggall from 1993 until 1997 with the Australian National Team. In 1998 I moved to the British Ski Team as their Women’s Head Coach. In that time I spend 6 years on the Women’s World Cup and Europa cup circuits. After coaching at club and regional level in America for 3 years I came back to New Zealand in 2005 as Men’s, and then Head Coach, of the NZ National Ski Team. I’m was also Australian National Team coach 2012, 13′ and 14′. We ran a combined Australia/New Zealand National Team program in Europe and North America. For the last 2 years i have coached the members of the New Zealand national Men’s team.

I’m active within the NZSIA organisation, coaching the examiner group and Demo team. From 2011 until 14′ i was a member of the SSNZ Alpine Sports Committee which is tasked with providing direction support and advice to the national body and Alpine director on Alpine matters.

My family has a rich history in New Zealand skiing. Starting with my grand father, who came from Germany in 1926 and started New Zealand’s first ski shop and became one of the first ski instructors who taught the Arlberg technique at Mt. Cook. To my father 3 x national champion, who ran the Coberger family ski shop with his brother Ekke for 40 years and my two sisters who both raced on the national team with me. One of us did exceptionally well!

I have coached from kinder level through to the very best in the world and had success at every level.  I think the CA can provide for any ski racer wanting to develop their ski racing skills in one of the best summer training venues in the world.
